The Walk
I have been done with the book for awhile and I would love to hear what you guys think about the book. I loved this book. Now I am reading the second one. This book hit at home in some many ways. First of all the first part of the book reminded me of when I was little and how dad was always working and then how things changed when mom got so sick. It was so interesting to watch dad make a complete 360 when mom got sick. It makes you think that does something awful have to happened to make you look at your life and make changes where is needed. After reading this book I have thought the same thing about my life is there things that I need to change? How you guys ever thought that way. Also the second thing that stood out to me and touch me was when he saw his wife and she told me it wasn't his time. Something similar happened to me and I don't think I was ever told anyone. A few months after Bryanna was born and I was having a hard time dealing with mom being gone and being a new mom. I was up late and I was thinking I couldn't do it all. I dozed off and I saw mom standing by me holding me up. She told me that she would always be there and I needed to be strong. There are so many times I have felt her helping me along the way and I am so grateful for that. It is amazing to think how close they are to us. This book was amazing to read because he is such a strong person to have all those things happen to him. When he started his walk I thought would I be able to do that? So everybody what did you think about the book?

Wow. What a wonderful story. I too have been done reading this book for a while and I loved it as well. It really made me feel like you could feel the person changing as they walked. I loved that he was able to find his new meaning for life while walking and that he was able to change the lives of other. I really did enjoy this book. Great recommendation.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed that it was an uplifting and easy read and one that was applicable to everyone.
I feel like the books we have chosen lately have really made us realize things about ourselves and things about our family. Great picks and great ideas.
Jason, Do you want to pick the next book?
ReplyDeleteJason and I picked this one together. Why don't Kim and/or Bryan pick the next one.
DeleteI will find the next book. Let me look and I will get back with you.
DeleteI love this book because it really illustrates how intricately our lives are intertwined with others. Even someone with seemingly few connections like Allan (I don't know if that's how it's spelled. I listed to the book.) both greatly affected and was affected by those he came in contact with.
ReplyDeleteIt kinda makes me want to start walking.... :)
