New book

Hey everybody,  I am so sorry it took me so long. It just has been so busy.
Well anyways this is a book I have been wanting to read.  I hope it is good.
It sounds good to me.  The book is The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I hope it
is as good as everyone tells me.  Have fun reading everybody.

  2. Well I am not sure if I am the first one to finish but I finished the book about Midnight on Friday. This book was very interesting and the time frame was a time in history that was very tense and still is kind of today. I thought the story was very well written espcially coming from several different point of view and how in the end the black women overcome all of the fears and issues they had with writing the book in the first place. I would have to tell them way to step out of their box and to voice their opinions even though it was going against everything they have ever been taught and what society as a whole was telling them. Then how skeeter stepped out of her box as well to write the story of these wonderful ladies. It was a very intesting read and I would recommend it to anyone.

  3. I actually read this book a few months back one the request of my friend. I loved this book and even felt like the movie followed the book fairly well. I felt that reading the book placed me in another time. I agree with Jason that Skeeter was able to see outside of herself to accomplish a goal. I feel like I learned a lot from the way the the nanny's treater their children. I often times find myself repeating the same words ..You are smart, you are beautiful....etc....I wish I had some of the same gumption as these women.

  4. I liked this book because since it gives us a look into a different period of time. I like seeing life from maids point of view. I have always wondered how things were for them. I agree with you guys about Skeeter. I was proud of her doing things that didn't always follow what everybody else was doing. My favorite part was the newsletter clip and how all those toilets ended up on the lawn of Hilly's house. I was laughing so hard. What was your favorite part?

  5. Found your blog through Kristin Parson's blog.
Great book. Coincidentally, I read it while living in Jackson, Mississippi. I don't think you have to go there to read it though. I'm pretty sure they let you read anywhere in the country.
